Basically, the free ones always with advertisements which shows on the program, the purchased ones definitely without any advertisements. They just like the one you bought from a shop. However, you do not have to insert a disc and install.
The future of the software is certainly purchased online. According to Microsoft, Windows 7 will be the last shop retail products of Microsoft. They will sell the software on the Internet. Not only the software, but also the music, HD movies and programs will all sold online. That is the trend of the development of the Internet.
The purchased ones are expensive but with high quality all the time. The free ones are fine but the advertisments inside are so annoying. Make a choice, the purchased ones or the free ones.
